Saha Scholarship for STS Annual Meeting
Thanks to a grant from Sibu P. Saha, MD, the Saha Scholarship provides the opportunity for junior faculty from India and cardiothoracic surgery residents from India and North America (United States, Canada, and Mexico) to attend the STS Annual Meeting. Applicants do not need to be of Indian or South Asian descent to apply. The award covers the cost of registration for the STS Annual Meeting, three nights lodging at an STS Annual Meeting partner hotel, and a stipend to defray the cost of cover meals, ground transportation and airfare.
Purpose
The TSF Saha Scholarship provides the opportunity for junior cardiothoracic surgeons from India and cardiothoracic surgery residents from India and from North America (USA, Canada, and Mexico) to attend, learn, and network at the STS Annual Meeting. This award is made possible by the generosity of Sibu P. Saha, MD, MBA.
Eligibility
- Cardiothoracic surgeons who are within three years of first faculty appointment at an academic center in India
- Cardiothoracic surgery residents enrolled in an ACGME-accredited program in the US or its equivalent in Canada or Mexico
- Cardiothoracic surgery residents enrolled in an accredited residency program in India
Applicants do not need to be of Indian or South Asian descent to apply.
Past recipients of the Saha Scholarship are not eligible to apply.
Award Amount
The TSF Saha Scholarship award covers the cost of registration for the STS Annual Meeting, including the President’s Reception, and lodging at a STS Annual Meeting Partner hotel for three nights. International award recipients will receive a travel stipend of $2,000, and North American recipients will receive a travel stipend of $800 to defray the cost of meals, ground transportation, and airfare. The TSF Saha Scholarship is valued at up to $3,500.
